Semi Ayub, MD
Dr. Ayub regularly sees patients who have new or chronic musculoskeletal complaints, including problems in the shoulders, hips, and knee pain. Her areas of particular interest include: reactive arthritis, inflammatory bowel disease-related arthritis, and all other common and uncommon rheumatic diseases.
“I also work with patients who require joint, bursa, and tendon sheath injections to alleviate painful swelling and symptoms,” she explained. “I can also help patients identify rheumatic versus non-rheumatic conditions, along with diagnosis and management of rheumatoid arthritis, psoriatic arthritis, osteoarthritis, gout, and systemic Lupus Erythematosus.”
A native of Pakistan, Dr. Ayub is a graduate of Dow Medical College, University of Karachi, Pakistan, and held the position of Medical Officer at Civil Hospital in Karachi. She continued her medical education as an Internal Medicine Resident at the University of Minnesota where she also studied as a Rheumatology Fellow. She was recently involved in two research projects, one at Veterans Administration which was recently published in an “Osteoarthritis and Cartilage” journal. The second project was finished at University and presented at the American College of Rheumatology Conference.
